Dear donor’s family,
First of all, I wish to thank you for entrusting me with this living legacy from your loved one. I will treasure this gift forever. My cornea tissue transplant experience went so well, and I am so pleased with the results. I had the surgery on my right eye, and it is now my best eye. I thought my left eye was pretty good until I was able to see the difference in my right eye after surgery.
I would like to tell you a little bit about me so you will know more about the person who received this transplant. I am 80 years old and have been retired for about 18 years. I worked as a sales representative for most of my working years. This job required me to travel extensively. My wife died about 12 years ago, but we raised two children, one son and one daughter. Both of our children are married and doing quite well. I never remarried. I do live a few miles from my daughter and her husband and their daughter. My son and his wife and their daughter and son live about 250 miles from me. I love my families and my grandchildren very much and spend time with them when I can. I am a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force for 4 years back in the early 1960’s.
Some of my hobbies are wood working, doing genealogy, having coffee with friends, and doing things for my friends.
Again, I am so grateful for this donation from your loved one and can’t tell you what a difference this donation has made in my life. So, thank you so very much.
