Emily's story
When I learned about the possibility of being able to donate my placenta after the birth of my daughter, I knew I wanted to become a tissue donor. Being able to help others in their time of need was of utmost importance to me. I knew that my placenta could impact many people and as a result, I wanted to donate it. I hope the lives of the recipient(s) were improved as a result of the donation.
Overall, the donation process was extremely easy on our end. The staff of Dakota Lions Sight and Health were extremely kind when gathering the needed information in order for me to complete the tissue donation process while in the hospital. It was a very rewarding experience that I have talked to other expecting mothers about. I plan on donating again if given the opportunity.
